Welcome to AUTOCHOICE Is Yours, LLC, one of America's premier marketers of high-line and luxury automobiles on eBay Motors. You are bidding on a pristine 1969 Chevrolet Camaro RS/SS Coupe with just 1,707 miles on the odometer, actual miles are unknown. The photo's speak for the car and actually shows better in person! The restoration was started in 2006 and just completed in the last 3 years. The car was competed as per build sheet specs with exception of the "Rally Sport" label on the two front fenders. The owner preferred to place the "Rally Sport" insignia in place of "SS". If the new owner wishes to bring it to factory specs, the transition is very simple. All is in excellent working order with the exception of the radio. There is a upgraded am/fm CD player nicely placed in the glove box for your listening pleasure. (Note: shows in one of the 138 photos, just double click on any of the thumb nail photos to the right of your screen to open into a larger photo of all photos, just scroll down on the right)
The car was brought back to original specifications for the express purpose to be a nice comfortable driver. The present owner has met and surpassed his objective, no question about it! I am sure every one will agree. The engine was completely rebuilt to factory specs by the best shop in the Walla Walla Valley and driving it will prove that to be correct. Believe me, when I say words can not define how beautiful this car is and performs. You will have to experience it for yourself and chances are you will also find it difficult to find words to express your thoughts and feelings also....guess saying that is enough....you think?
All I can say, you can place a your bid with confidence on this Camero and rest assured you will be PLEASANTLY VERY HAPPY!!! Please call out toll-free number with your questions, (888) 249-8359.
UPDATED DATA ADDED ON JAN 29, 2012 BY THE OWNER.
This X 11 RS/SS Camaro was bought at an auction in 2006. The car was listed in the auction with VIN # 124379N602066. The dash VIN plate matched that number as did the VIN on the clear title. At auction he car was painted Tuxedo Black with white ralley stripes. During the restoration the old dash was replaced and the VIN # was lost. This work was done at Checkers Auto Body. The intent of the restoration was to restore the car to as original as possible within reasonable cost and still have a car that could be driven.
The Cowl Tag shows the car was built in 4th week of February 1969. The car is a Sport Coupe, 8 cylinder built in Norwood, Ohio. The interior was 719, Red Custom with Code 52 Garnet Red with a Black vinyl top. The interior was not restored to Custom Red. The Exterior Trim Code is X 11 a Style Trim Group and RS cars are part of Z21/Z22 style trim and so only the X 11, X22 or X33 Code.
The SS option was a performance option and not a trim option and only about 10% of X 11 cars are true SS 350s. Without the build sheet I cannot guarantee that this is a true SS. However, there are several markers that support that this was built as an SS car. Super Sport Camaros, RPO Z27 included power disc front brakes, multi-leaf spring rear suspension and among other things a special hood. Only the SS and the Z28 were given the option of the, new in 1969, Cowl Induction hood. This car has the original hood and original body color (52) was found and confirmed during the restoration.
In addition to the Z28, only the SS was given the option of the 15x7 wheels. You will see in the attached picture the stamped codes on the 15x7 ralley wheels on this car. To the left of the stem valve you will see a "K 1 9" which stands for Kelsy-Hays, Romulus plant, 1969. The "F W" stamped to the right of the valve indicated these wheels were built for the 1969 Z28 (wheel code YH also was used on Z28s). NOTE: The last photo shows one of the rims with the stamped numbers.
The car at auction had a high rise intake manifold, Holly carburetor and after market exhaust headers. The car has been restored to 1969 L48 350 ci engine specifications. The engine parts changed to period correct (not numbers matching) detail were the intake and exhaust manifolds to 1969/70 chevelle and El Camino parts. The carburetor was replaced with a SS 350 correct Rochester 4 barrel quadrajet.
